Although James Lee Burke had published several novels and short stories between 1965 and the mid 1980s, it was the release of The Neon Rain in March 1987 – the first book in the Dave Robicheaux series – that put him on the path to becoming a bestselling novelist.
Over the coming decades, Burke would releaseĀ a new Detective Robicheaux book nearly every year, winning an Edgar Award for Best Novel for the third installment in the series (Black Cherry Blues) and having some of the stories adapted for movies.
To make sure that you don’t miss out on any of the stories in the series, we’ve produced below a list of all the books in the Dave Robicheaux series in the order in which they were published.
The list links to pages for each of the novels where you can find the following information:
- Its date of publication
- A description of the book
- An image of the front cover
- A link to the novel on Amazon where you can purchase a copy and read reviews
